Register of Older Slovenian Manuscripts

Updating the Register of 17th- and 18th-century Slovenian-language Manuscripts
Published on: August 8, 2022

Led by the editor Matija Ogrin, the Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies has published the ‘Register of Older Slovenian Manuscripts. This is the first digital register dedicated to manuscripts written in Slovenian between the seventeenth and the early nineteenth century. Most of the manuscripts have never been published or researched. To describe and present them together with digital facsimiles, the Text Encoding Initiative Guidelines (TEI) and the TEI-Publisher platform have been used. This significantly updates the ‘Register of 17th- and 18th-century Slovenian-language Manuscripts’, which was created a decade ago by Ogrin together with his colleague from the Jožef Stefan Institute, Jan Jona Javoršek.
