Guest lecture by Norbert Bachleitner (Vienna) on German translations of Scott and Flaubert

Postgraduate School ZRC SAZU and the ZRC SAZU Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies would like to invite you to a guest lecture by Norbert Bachleitner, Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Vienna. On Thursday, 20 May 2020, at 11:00 (Zoom, Meeting ID: 869 7207 3300, Passcode: 005101), Professor Bachleitner will speak on the topic of translation studies and book history in the case of German translations of Scott and Flaubert. The lecture will be held in English.

Norbert Bachleitner is Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Vienna and member of Academia Europaea. His research interests include the German-language reception of English and French literature, translation studies, the social history of literary censorship, literature in periodicals, intertextuality and electronic literature. He is the author of the book Die literarische Zensur in Österreich von 1751 bis 1848 (2017; English edition forthcoming) and his edited volumes include Literary Translation, Reception, and Transfer (2020).
