Jernej Habjan contributes to a literary reading at Princeton

Published on: May 3, 2023

On 3 May 2023, Jernej Habjan, member of the ZRC SAZU Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies, appeared at the closing event of the Fung Global Fellows Program ten-year anniversary celebration at Princeton University. A recipient of the Fung Global Fellowship in 2020/21, Habjan contributed to a multilingual reading of René Char’s wartime journal, Feuillets d’Hypnos, which was co-organised by Marie-Claude Char, Char’s editor and widow, Professor Sandra Bermann, the caretaker of the Char archive at Princeton, and Florent Masse, theatre director and Senior Lecturer at Princeton. Habjan’s interest in Feuillets d’Hypnos and its translations extends also to his role of external member of Poetry and War: Translating the Untranslatable, a research project group led by Professor Bermann at the Princeton Humanities Council.
