Indologist and translator Vlasta Pacheiner Klander (1932–2025), former researcher at the ZRC SAZU Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies and former professor at the Department of Comparative Linguistics and Oriental Studies at the University of Ljubljana, is the recipient of the Medal of Merit of the Republic of Slovenia as well as The World Sanskrit Award, which is the highest recognition for work in the field of Sanskrit studies awarded by the Republic of India.
