Anton Podbevšek (1898–1981) was one of the central figures of the Slovenian literary avant-garde. In a monograph Mož z bombami: Anton Podbevšek in slovenska zgodovinska avantgarda (The Man with the Bombs: Anton Podbevšek and the Slovenian Interwar Avant-Garde), Marijan Dović, an established Slovenian expert on avant-garde literature and arts, is dealing with Podbevšek’s life and work from various perspectives, providing a systematic account of his key innovations in Slovenian literature both regarding the content of the artistic works as well as its public presentation.
