Jernej Habjan has guest-edited a special issue of CLCWeb

Jernej Habjan, member of the ZRC SAZU Institute of Slovenian Literature and Literary Studies, has guest-edited a special issue of CLCWeb: Comparative Literature and Culture, titled ‘World Literature as World Crisis: Discussing World Literature to Change the World’. The contributions approach the intellectual history of the notion of world literature as a problem that, ever since Goethe and Marx, we have been drawn to in times of world-historic crises. The special issue builds on the international conference which was held in September 2025 at ZRC SAZU, and is the result of the research project ‘World War Literature: Historicizing the Debate on World Literature as a Debate on World War’ (N6-0357), which has been financed by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency.
